ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC PARISH

Adult Education

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
These weekly classes meet Tuesday nights at 7:00pm in the social hall.  This is a comprehensive study of the Catholic Faith.  It is necessary that non-Catholics planning to join the Catholic Church participate in RCIA; but, it is also for Catholic adults who have missed out on one of the Sacraments of Initiation, that is, First Communion or Confirmation.  It is also an excellent course for fully initiated Catholics who want to learn more about their Catholic Faith.  Catholics are also invited to attend individual classes of their choice.  Watch the Bulletin for weekly topics.

Life-in-Christ Series
There are three sources where Catholics can learn more about their faith: the Bible, the Catholic Catechism, and, Church documents.  The Life-In-Christ offers three 6-week sessions throughout the year from these three sources.
The first session is a study on one of the books of the Bible. This year it will be on the “Book of James.”  (See the schedule below.)  The second study on a particular topic in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the third study of a Church document (one that is usually written by one of the Popes), will begin after Christmas.  There are four possible times that these are offered:
Sister Elaine’s class is on Thursday, Sept. 27th at 9:30am in Room C.
Brad & Shelly Wiemann class is on Thursday, Sept. 27th at 6:30pm in Room C.
